The word “domestic” has been used to keep women quiet, limiting their role to baking, budgeting, and keeping the house in order. Well, that ends now.
What fascists call “domestic terrorism,” we call domestic help. We’re taking the skills perfected in the home - ruthless efficiency, airtight scheduling, and the uncanny ability to find anything anyone has hidden - and bringing them to the public square, where it is needed most right now.
Being domestic is the heart of community and civilization. It is not meekness, but strength in the creative force of home and hearth. Just look at the goddesses associated with domestic spaces: Hera, Vesta, Frigg, Brigid, and Lakshmi.
This isn’t a violent uprising. It’s a highly organized resistance to fascist control fueled by cold brew and the unshakable will of a woman who’s already negotiated with a toddler about eating vegetables.
From now on, “domestic terrorism” means:
- Showing up at every school board meeting,
- Voting without fear and with unified
purpose, and
- Using our unmatched planning skills to
dismantle oppressive systems,
one spotless, heavily scrutinized
executive order at a time.
